The Welsh Baroque Orchestra has made one commercial
recording so far, thanks to sponsorship from DG Bank and with the co-operation
of the National Museums
and Galleries of Wales.
The
recording features the music of Thomas Chilcot, an important musician
in the city of Bath at the time of Thomas Gainsborough. Soloists Buddug
Verona James (mezzo-soprano), Charles Daniels (tenor) and James Ottaway
(bass-baritone) give a complete performance of Chilcot's intriguing and
delightful English Songs, interlaced with two organ concertos from the
1756 and 1765 collections, played by Andrew Wilson-Dickson on the Williams-Wynne
organ in Gallery Four of the Cardiff Museum and Art Gallery. (CDE 84428)
Contact us to order a copy of the CD at the reduced price of £10.
Future plans include the first ever recording of Marc'Antonio
Ziani's Le Due Passione, planned for 2005.
